#NigeriaDecides: Buhari beats Atiku with 395,319 votes in Niger state

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged winner of last Saturday’s presidential election in Niger state.
In the results announced by the Collation Officer for the state, Professor Angela Freeman Mary early hours of Tuesday, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Minna, Buhari polled a total of 612,371 to beat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 218,052 votes.

The result shows that Buhari beats Atiku by 395,319 votes to emerge winner of the poll in the state.
In the results presented earlier by the INEC Returning Officers of various local councils in the state, the APC candidate sweeps all the 25 local government areas of the state.

According to the Collation Officer, the total number of registered voters was 2,375,568, while the number of persons accredited to votes was 911,964.
She noted that the number of valid votes in the election was 851,937 while 45,039 votes were rejected.
